throttle position sensor

help needed ive taken off my tps and now my car wont run very well , almost stalls and then the revs can be at 2k without touching the throttle .
i think you check the voltage at the ecm where is this ???? really struggling + doing my head in.

you'll need to get it to a garage and get the ECU reset,other wise the issue will continue,ECU is located in the passenger front footwell..

im in lincoln ,
ive set the tps and trying to reset ecu , problem is the car wont drive as its missing , is it right that if you disconnect the battery for 30mins to 1hr it will reset.
can i read the trouble codes with out running it ,cheers

Leave it overnight with the battery off to be sure

what year car,
You need to calibrate the TPS or it wont idle, as mentioned above you need a specialist really unless your handy with a multi meter.

Hey All,

thanks in advance for any info you can provide me on this!

I need to replace my throttle position sensor.

I am better with houses than I am with Cars!

Is there anything I need to know to do before removing the sensor and replacing it with a new one?

I have located it on the top of my engine this far and have ordered the new part.

yep, you need to know how to calibrate it, you should really start your own thread as people will ignore old threads.
