No power to fuel pump 94 impreza

Hello,

I have a 94 impreza 2.2 automatic, which is currently not receiving fuel to the front of the engine. I have check for power at the fuelpump, and it had none.

I have checked the following/replaced it.
ECU (R)
Crank Position (R)
checked Relay ( no clicking )

Ran a Cable from a 12 volts at the fuse box to the blue and yellow wire at the Fuel pump and before trying to crank I made sure I was getting twelve volts. But nothing. Previous owner said the fuel pump was working fine, it just wouldn't start. So he put new ignition, new sparks plugs, cable, Fuel injectors.. he said it might need a cam position sensor or the ecu. but I don't believe any of those has to do with no power at fuel pump.

I change the cam sensor too, still no power. What else Im I missing?

Thank you.

Sounds to me that the pump is at fault then did you take the pump out of the car and hook it up directly to 12v from the battery as it should work then, just watch when connecting up to the live 12v's as might cause a spark so dont have it near any part of the fuel pump that soaked in petrol or your hands. Seen this happen to a guy before and burned his fingers from a spark and fingers were in petrol before hand

Re: No power to fuel pump 94 impreza

I went And Bought a new pump. The F*(*ing Thing still wont turn on.

I connected the pump directly to a power source, and have left it on to build up pressure. Still nothing. It has a new crank and shaft sensor, cpu, and throttle position sensor.

Whats needed now?

Thank you

can u run a 12v feed to the pump from the battery with a fuse and switch on then try starting the car but working the pump urself, cutting out any associated wiring for now.

Re: No power to fuel pump 94 impreza

my bad, I meant the car wont turn on. The Fuel pump does get power...( new one with Direct power source ) but the car will just turn over and wont start.

Since I got the car not running I can't tell if its cranking faster than usual.

Re: No power to fuel pump 94 impreza

Have you tried a load of Carb Cleaner through the air intake ? If there's a spark then it should start for a few seconds. Assume you've checked for spark ?
Still sounds like faulty Immobiliser though.

Re: No power to fuel pump 94 impreza

I have once Again began working on the car. I have no spark. So I went and got an ignition coil and a ( control module?) after install then i decided to check for power on the cable...(azz) should have done that before...( returned Parts) as I do get power all the way to the coil.

Funny I have power on all three cables on the coil. I also notice that the Check Engine light doesnt turn on when Im Cracking the car. So I check for power on the ECU plug. Seems to have power since fans and relays where clicking every time i inserted a test light.

So now I have no spark, no power to fuel pump ( using stock cables), no check engine light. What is going??

Re: No power to fuel pump 94 impreza

The power going into the coil through the three cables...is because It doesnt have a negative or is it because a positive cable burnt through a negative cable...making the negative a positive?

Re: No power to fuel pump 94 impreza

I have a similar problem to Koqui, my car was broken into, my 1994 import wrx has an immobiliser and as usual require the immobiliser to be unlocked to turn the ignition. But when i try turning the car over, she coughs and splutters 2 or 3 times then dies. Im in the process of changing spark plugs, then looking at coils, If neither works then a mate told me to try changing fuel filter and finally the injectors. But im not 100% sure that i have a fuel problem as i turned her over with the hose off the filter, and got covered in fuel? Any suggestions guys? Immobiliser maybe? If so where do i start looking for the immobiliser to disconnect it? cheers guys Gareth

might want to check that the injectors are opening, could be that the other half of your coil is not working....crank sensor....

--------------
now my scooby doesnt have an alarm...but for investigation purpose where is the immobilizer at, since it seems to be a factory item. I know Im not all there..:

Thank you
