alarm help

I have a bit of a problem with my 2000 wagon.

Had to take a look at the fuel pump as the car was cutting out during cornering (the wrong sock is on the fuel pick up - it sticks out at 90 degrees from the pump body meaning it sucks air when the fuel starts to get low), when i reconnected the battery the car refuses to start and the alarm goes off after a couple of turns of the engine.

Probably something simple but any help or advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Re: alarm help

Assuming you sorted the fuel pump sock and the pump itself is fine might be an Immobiliser problem if you have one? could try turning the key to ignition lights on only about 8-10 times then on the final 10th time turn the key as to start the engine and hopefully should fire into life works on some cars somtimes anyway to reset immobiliser
