One dead car:(

ok so over xmas i wasnt driving much and with the frosty weather, well my car died, so jumped it which i dont like doing but all was ok, so tue morning gone was going to work and the battery went again, was 4 days without driving, plus was -2 degrees out. so ok i bought a new battery, fitted it and realised the positive negative terminals were wrong way around on new battery, i did NOT connect leads to them but maybe they touched ie pos cable to neg on battery, changed battery for the correct one and connected up, said a little prayer to my car and turned key...... nothing , is dead, not a thing out of it, no lights no immobilliser key flashing on dash nothing..... help 2004 wrx sti bugeye am so annoyed? is it a blown fuse?

Re: One dead car:(

yeah i thought so, am on nights but will bring home one of the electricains meters and check them, but if a 50 or 80a fuse blew when or if the pos cable touched neg on battery then i wouldve heard a bang, is a big fuse like. also would there be any other side effect say to my mapped ecu seen as it had no battery connected for over a day. cheers

Re: One dead car:(

I hope it is just a fuse, if u did connect it for a few seconds reversed polarity it can do damaged to electronics ie ecu but i would hope for the split second u may have done it u should be ok.
