Unhappy Kenwood DDX 6029 reversing camera

Hey guys
I've noticed that the Kenwood DDX 6029 double DIN head unit is a popular aftermarket replacement for the standard unit in New Ages Imprezas....which is why I bought one! I'm having a hell of a game getting my reversing camera to work. Any of you guys fitted a camera to a DDX 6029 and if so am I missing something? I know all the wiring's correct but it still won't work. Hope I'm not doing something stooopid but there's every chance I am
Thanks in advance.

Re: Kenwood DDX 6029 reversing camera

Hi there fitted a reversing camera to my jvc headunit the other day.

live from reverse light to camera
earth from reverse light to camera
input lead from camera to headunit on jvc it is a dedicated input
there should also be a lead from the rear of the headunit which goes to the reverse light switch on your gearbox(this bit we found easier to run a cable from the reverse lights as you have to run the camera cable through the car as well)

hope some of this helps

Cheers Dan

Re: Kenwood DDX 6029 reversing camera

I was unsure whether I wanted a surface mounted or flush mounted camera so I bought BOTH (off eBay) so it's unlikely that BOTH have a bad connection!!!

Hi, can u plug the camera in at the back of the headunit to rule out the wiring?
