As Ed said, had the same light on in my jap import civic it happened when my engine misfired then it back fired and that light came on I suggest more it got to do with cat and what was annoyning me was I had the european dianostics for to take dash lights off and clear codes and so on but could never take that light off cause it was not in my european dianostic program for my civic as this light only comes in jap cars so I could never clear that light so took the bulb out and car ran perfect never had a problem even with the light on but I was selling the car and wanted to get rid and didnt want the next owner seeing the light on

Re: warning light help needed

just wandered that if my ecu i bought was mapped without a cat in the system and i have a cat in mine, would this be the problem.
but also unplugged the lambder sensor while the engine was running as there was no change in how the engine idoled.

Strange that engine light didnt come on when you unplugged the lambda sensor if you unplug the Maf sensor check light comes on you think that engine check light would come on when any sensor disconnected
