help please

hiya guys im new on here and really need your help. ive got a 1999 imprenza sport 2.0l not turbo and the other day i lost all dash lights except hazards on and doors open.

speedo rev counter fuel etc have all gone aswell. electric windows have also gone. car then conked out, battery flat. can this all be related to alternator. as thats what i thought since battery keeps running flat. or could they be separate problems, if anybody can help please do.

thanks tom

Best thing to do is have both of them tested. Just keep in mind that your alternator is what keeps your car running once it is started. If the alternator is bad, it will in turn cause your battery to go bad. Hope this helps.

Re: help please

Possibly a short somewhere what happens when you replace fuses(assuming theyre gone)

Could maybe be bad earth(battery negative to body connection corroded)

Possible voltage regulator in alternator

need to try another battery/check fuses to see if the problem with stuff not working`s a fault somewhere or alternator not charging first.
