Orange Engine Light.

Found a few confusing posts and web bits about this. Says its a emmisions control fault light...what exactly does it mean? Can i still drive the car?

My first scooby, so I'm a little clue less at the moment.

Sensor failure... not sure which one... think it may be the Lambda sensor that is screwed into your exhaust... could be wires off... but they can fail

Only sure way to find out put on a diagnostic

Hope this points you in the right direction

As nobby said.

The orange engine light is a CEL "Check Engine Light " basicaly it will light whenever a problem is detected. I Suggest you get the CEL checked for a fault/error code.

Re: Orange Engine Light.

Bit of a update..

The light is off now. Comes on with ignition, and goes off when engine starts. But, the car now feels like it has no power. Its almost like it has no turbo, as you cant feel it kick in anymore.

Still looking for someone reputable to look at it.

Re: Orange Engine Light.

Sounds like your car is running in "safe mode" restricting your revs as part of that protection.

Re: Orange Engine Light.

Fixed now. Took it to a Subaru Dealer in Maidstone, watched them connect it up to the tool, and it turns out to be a faulty camshaft sensor. New one fitted in 10 mins.
Driving it home, felt diffrent instantly.
