Hi there, i had similar trouble - i own a 1998 classic wagon.

the speakers i bought were rainbow, here are the ones to get an idea of the dimensions-> http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/3966.html

i have just about manged to get them in but the spacer ring is not enough so i'm now in the process of making/buying some mdf spacer rings.

The problem i faced was that i installed them with the window closed - so they fit ok, it was only when i tried to send my passenger window down that i realised i had f**ked up as it hit the magnet!

I tried doubling up 2 spacer rings ( the plastic type you get with them) but then the window still skimmed the magnet and it held the door card off. Hence the reason i'm on here to find a solution - i guess i've been no help here but at least ur not on ur own!! lol
