Its only a guess but could be something to do with seatbelt pre tensioners seem to remember something to do with dodgy connections on the plugs where it connects under front seats-i know the airbag light came on when i were running the audio cables in a previous car with a seat out hence unplugged-never had seats outta me scoob so cant give any more info though worth a try.

it could be a dodgy connection in the plug underneath the steering column

Re: Airbag

This might sound daft, but do either of you have after market steering wheels? If so this could be the problem as you won't have an airbag so sensor is sensing this as a problem.

My Airbag light came on about 2 months ago (have had aftermarket wheel forever) but I'm not concerened coz i don't have an airbag so just means that whatever they did to disable the Airbag light no longer works.

Re: Airbag

Had mine checked out. and it turns out to be the metal ring on the stearing boss thats worn out. not making proper contact with the wheel and causing a fault. had to get a replacment from subaru and get it fitted. all working good now
