Red face front speakers

formley a sccoby virgin i have now had my 2004 wrx for 2 weeks and have found out what my annoying rattle is, the front speaker was loose and also torn.
just wondering if anyone knows what mounting bracket can be used to fit better speakers (was told vauxhall but wasnt sure) and what size can then be fitted just want something quality not monstorously loud.

Not 100% on this but apparently if you make a wooden mounting ring for the speaker and then get some standard size sony jobbos its supposed to improve the sound loads.

you can buy those speakers rings if you want or you can go with a shallow magnet speaker which means no need for speaker rings etc...

Ive never had decent results from shallow magnet/basket speakers meself it definately compromises mid bass/bass in my opinion.

Guess it depends wether ya like much midbass up front or not Had these alpines below in a previous car an werent impressed with the bass side at all-dont get me wrong really clear but would have liked more mid bass-these had narrow basket with small magnet-replaced the alpines with jl audio vr525cs components large mounting depth large magnet yet an inch smaller diameter-gave a much stronger more balanced sound from the front end better than the alpines yet less money.(would never compromise for an easy life when fitting now over sound quality and even though at the time both these component sets were over 200quid each sound quality of the jl`s were lovely).
