ecutek license

Im going to be getting the scooby remapped and to try and save money I was thinking of getting a 2nd hand ECU that has already got an ECUTEK license on it, my question is how can you tell if the ECU has been remapped/licensed?

thanks in advance.

Re: ecutek license

Seems Im getting a lot of views with this post.
There must be some way of telling the ECU has previously been remapped with ECUTEK license?

simple,you can't tell...

pointless wasting money on a supposedly mapped ECU as it won't support your mods and could well fudge the engine...bite the bullet and remap the one in the car....end of...

cheers, im pretty sure that if its another ECUTEK out of the same year car it will support my mods.

Lets pretend that there was a way of telling I would not install it until the car was about to be remapped.

Just out of interest really, would a newage ECU work in a classic as I like the idea of twin maps?
