Exclamation Sigma Alarm Problem

2000 uk spec turbo impreza classic, sigma m30 alarm.

i only have 1 working alarm fob, have been meaning to purchase another but never got round to it, i was not given my 4 digit code by previous owner as he never used it as vehicle was constantly in valet mode and he used the key only not the fob, last few days fob been playing up press a good few times to arm/disarm car. today drove to my local tesco, pressed fob, locked car fine, came out, fob light flashing 3 times but not doing anything, my car is stuck at tesco which im not too pleased about, anyway to reprogram fob without the 4 digit alarm code other than going through subaru and waiting ages, i need to get my car back home, have had a quick look on forums regarding the 3 flashes on the fob and they basically say i need to reprogam the fob, which clearly i cant without the 4 digit code. so basically anyway to manually disable immobiliser to get it home, many thanks kev

Re: Sigma Alarm Problem

Tow it a short distance if possible. Sometimes phone masts have been known to play havoc with alarm systems. Tow it a few hundred yards from where it is and try it again

Re: Sigma Alarm Problem

as said if the battery is good in the fob your getting some interference, also GET a NEW fob incase it does fail or you will be back again lol and make sure you have 2 keys for the car too, so many people seem to buy a car with 1 key or fob and do nothing about it until they NEED it lol

Re: Sigma Alarm Problem

have tried reprogramming my fob but all i get it flashing led 3 times on fob, i dunno if that means the fob is knackered as it should blip the alarm when connecting it to the system but it does nothing

Re: Sigma Alarm Problem

I had a very similar problem, my daughter dropped my keys and the fob refused to work, my car was also stuck in a carpark at the time but with the alarm going off aswell!! lol, Rang the AA, the mecahnic came out and took the fob apart and thru messing around sliding the batteries around on the connector points managed to disarm it so i could get it home, next day i managed to do the same again to get it to a local auto electricians and they just happened to have a brand new fob lying around for my alarm system off the old council vans as they apprently used the same alarms! stroke of luck because we rang Sigma first and they said they dont make the fobs anymore so id have to have the whole thing taken out which would have been very expensive! i got the new fob and recoding for 55 al in.
Try taking the fob apart and slide the batteries around on the connectors inside while pressing the button it should eventually work!

Re: Sigma Alarm Problem

not having a good weekend, drove car just now on way back home noticed temp guage climbing so turned engine off in layby and smoke coming out bonnet and pissing out coolant, gotta wait for it to cool down so can check if it pipe or actual radiator, had the car year and half and never had a single problem, 6 monthly oil changes etc.. not overdriven, (well on occasion) lol
