bosshogg29 newbie

hello everybody.
i am after some info reguarding my wifes impreza wrx is a 57 plate , the stereo is working , but no sound,so we brought a new replacement unit,put it in only to have the same problem with this ,no sound the cd player is a kenwood gx-401ef2 is there anything i should know about these ,and what to do to sort out the problem. thanks.


i myself are a member of the pajeros owners club as i drive a chealsea tractor and my wifes wrx,little bit faster than the truck.i live in lincolnshire and are married to miriam, and have 2 grand kids that we are brining up

have you popped the door cards off and made sure the speaker connections are on the speakers,some dealers disconnect things so as you come back and get charged warrenty costings..

no mate as i fitted the replacement cd player,and also tried a cd player with iso connectors,which worked also but with no sound again.

as per, whip the door card off, the previous owner may have fitted after market speakers and not used the original wiring maybe, failing that u need a speaker to test the output at the rear of the HU then take it from there.

hi the speakers were working up to 3 weeks ago . when you switch the unit on you hear a like thud noise and that is all,no sound on whatever unit you put on it.

a thud!!...sounds like there is an amp fitted somewhere with the motor...

Could be a bad earth connection? My stereo in my old Golf used to do the same and I'm pretty sure this is what the problem was.
