Re-mapping standard Ecu Type R

Hi, the engine blew in my type r version 5 subaru. its getting fixed at the moment. the reason for the engine blowing was because it wasnt mapped for irish fuel, so i need to get it re-mapped soon. one subaru specialist said a standard ecu cannot be re-mapped, is that bs or whats the story?

Normally comes to Belfast - don't think the date is agreed yet. Join up scoobyireland too. I'm on both forums and the guys on both are great. Jollygreenmonster (jgm) would be able to advise and supply a suitable ecu and map it too

Re: Re-mapping standard Ecu Type R

Not aware of anyone in Ireland doing proper custom mapping. If he's just loading a generic map off a computer and not doing it while either on a rolling road or driving the car on the road I'd be very wary. A custom map on an after market ecu is the only way
