Spyware Software

Hi All

I need to get hold of some anti spyware software for my PC :? How can I go about getting this and is there anywhere I can get it for free or at least a trial period :?:

Daz, take a look through these... I would recommend Adaware... i useually install them check the computer and then try another product 6 months down the line :shock: Some antivirus software also supports spyware too...

another program to keep an eye out there for is CW shredder...It'll help if you already have problesm.. That and HiJackthis... both a free to DL and use..

Downloaded SPYKILLER, it found 32 files / registry keys on mine :shock:
All cleaned

On Joan's PC it found 150 files / Registry keys :shock: :shock:

All Cleaned

I would recommend the following... all free.

1. Adaware SE HERE
2. Spybot HERE
3. Hijack This HERE - brilliant for catching loading exe's and html rubbish
4. BHO Demon HERE - Good for catching those self loading BHO's... naughty things.
5. Proxomitron HERE - block things you dont want
6. CW Shredder HERE only good for certain hijacks
7. Spyware Blaster HERE another 'catching net'

Hi,

If you use more than one anti spyware/adware software you should be careful when scanning.

These software create backups, or quarantines bad objects. The other software probably will find those backups and objects and list them. You should not delete them, cause they are important files.

That is the main problem with having more than one software. Also when installing one software make sure the rest all totally shut down, not even working in the backround.

Been using AVG Anti-spyware...As you can see it has captured a few nasties in the few month I have been using it... Will have to try to keep off the porn sites...

I have always used a spy killer and do not get problems...Saw the AVG stuff thought I would give it a go....Found over a 1000 problems first time I used it...Windows defender and adware never spotted these...
