By hand theyre tough to get rid of to be honest and actually end up covering them/filling them as opposed to losing them all together-mines still got them though after sealant/glaze/wax you have a hard job spotting them if ya can spot them at all-however they are there.
Me an daz (a mate)have done a few cars with his portercable using sonus pads and sonus sfx1/2/3 to get rid of light to medium swirls all together,if they`re fairly bad would be looking towards a more coarse polish/compound something like one of menzernas products then a less coarse one then finishing polish before (if its needed)sealant/glaze /wax. All the cars i show here still have swirls, its just that ya can lose a few with something like poorboys professional polish or sonus sfx1/2/3 by hand then follow with a normal polish i tend to favour at the moment einszett metallic polishwax(its still more of a polish/cleanser than wax)though if youve got any polish yourself at the moment that would do. Follow this with blackfire wet diamond all finish paint protection(sealant)at least 2 coats for best results. The shine alone will be quite mad at this stage however if you intend waxing and want to be sure youve hid the swirls buy some meguiars showcar glaze-links heres just for info its not where i get mine from-just buy it from local car shop http://www.autogeek.net/meg7showcarg.html http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/shop/g...laze/p_92.html If anyones reading this and ive not advised you to buy any its because its not one of my favourite products to use hence i dont use it meself much-however when swirls are really noticeable almost a necessity though not every time you do your car.Basically it adds extra depth, covers minor imperfections thats left on your paintwork and gives the wax a grippy surface to bond to-all that without reducing the shine already on your car at this stage-i only say it aint my favourite product as it can occasionally be a pain to remove-better on a cool day or at least in the evening. Then just follow with a decent wax something like collinite 915 (1coat) be careful with it as it dries quick so put on buff off 1 panel at a time or you`ll never get it off.(well without a struggle) So from my point of view i`d buy- Poorboys professional polish - http://www.motorgeek.co.uk/poorboys-...ula-p-123.html Einszett metallic polishwax if havent got anything yourself at the mo- http://www.einszett.co.uk/products_e..._paintwork.htm 3rd product down on there. Meguiars showcar glaze http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/shop/g...laze/p_92.html Blackfire wet diamond all finish paint protection- http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...n-protect.html Collinite 915 wax- http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/shop/w...nce/p_281.html I tend to use microfibre applicators for the polish/sponge ones for sealant and wax, this is because polish needs working a bit harder to produce better results/break the polish down and the microfibre applicator is more abrasive on the paintwork than a sponge one-bit like you`d use a firmer pad on a rotary polisher then softer on the products that followed. With a sealant/wax the product goes further using a sponge one and as it dont need the abrasion to do its job a microfibre ones not needed. The products above look expensive there without microfibre polishing cloths/applicators but trust me the finish will far outweigh what youre expecting and to be honest the professional polish i probably only use about 3 times a yr maybe 4 or 5 times a yr the glaze so will last quite a while, only thing you may need after a yr`s the blackfire-that stuffs very addictive. How often you use the sealant/wax is dependant on how glossy you want it,but these two stages or even just going over it with the blackfire after washing/drying off aint too bad at all you`ll be suprised-be careful though when you see the shine increasing this easily it can get a bit of an obsession-i know trust me.![]() ![]() Hope that helps mate.

Cant remember which way round me an daz used products on this silver/grey astra coupe but involved sonus sfx1/2/3 by polisher then einszett metallic polishwax/collinite 915 but alot of the stuff i use is good on all colours now-only really reds and blacks where i may recommend pinnacle souveran wax £40/petes 53(chemical guys stuff)£20 or even poorboys nattys/nattys blue at about £12.95-just depends what ppl are after and how much they want to spend or how often they want to do their car.
Personally at £20-£25 still think collinites a great value/shine wax on virtually every colour car ive tried it on-dont rule the others out though they all give good appearance/depth just think collinite actually lasts very well for the price P21s is worth a mention as its so easy to use and again looks good on any colour but to be fair is more aimed at being a show wax than being long lasting-i find collinite 915 to be the best compromise of looking great and lasting-most waxes are one or the other. The harder pastewaxes are generally the longer lasting,i got great results in finish from using pinnacle Xmt180 however protection wise doesnt last that long as its very soft. With Collinite 915 working out at about £5 more i couldnt recommend the pinnacle over it but its horses for courses to be fair the softer waxes arent really aimed at longevity just bling ![]() ![]() At the other end of the scale theres collinite 845 insulator wax and collinite 476 which are winter waxes really that give protection for your paint over shine-different waxes for different reasons, its key to get one that suits you really, thats why in general always recommend collinite 915 as i know ppl wont be dissapointed with it on any colour. Collinite 476 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/shop/w...76s/p_207.html Collinite 845 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/shop/w...wax/p_208.html Sorry about pic quality, took on my cameraphone on a crap day-the astra we did- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() were a crap day dark an rainin one minute then sunny the next-supposed to be doin his and his missus`s car again sometime soon, trouble is daz works funny hours so we have to work it around that if we`re doing cars with a portercable as its his. All the cars i post on here are done by hand-one above like i say with portercable/more products and about 8hours timewise though total swirl removal.(car werent bad swirlwise to start with though)
