Al`s pug 306 d turbo
Doing a mates 306 tomorrow all being well with him, will follow roughly the same routine though im skipping the clay as finished it off proper on brens A4 -clay were nackered after that-were cool though bren had gave me some money for some more-just al aint as fussy as me,in fact if it werent for knowing me probably wouldnt bother doin it.
Plan is to start again with poorboys professional polish/possibly sonus sfx1/2/3, then einszett waxpolish soft, then finish with poorboys nattys blue wax(works lovely on red-tried before on micra) know al will be well chuffed when its done, wont charge me mates for this as theyre helping and one way or another its sorta favour for a favour ive got some great mates i can rely on so im always willing to help em out an it works both ways when i need a favour or something. What it is al`s off to modified nationals this wkend so its just a spruce up for then if ya like-emma another friend came up to me last night sayin"dave you wouldnt come an help me do my car for the wkend would ya"they know what im like up town for polishing etc, told her soz im doin al`s (loads of us know each other up town sort of a cruise community but they arent idiots) Emmas response were"what that piece of sh_t" pmsl wouldnt mind but she`s only got a puma-she werent impressed, thing is she only speaks when she wants something-Als 306 as it is now ![]() sills and the grill are now red-remember i cant perform miracles but still think you will be suprised even without a polisher.

I know he's your mate Dave, but you've got your work cut out there. It certainly looks it age. Still, if anyone can sort it I'm sure you can. Be interested to see how you do with this one. Please do post the after pics.

Spent about 5 hours on it(both of us) Washed with meguiars shampoo plus leathered off-Autoglym Aqua-dry synthetic chamois Poorboys professional polish applied with terry cloth applicator/buffed off with cotton stockinette(stuff ya buy on a roll from car shops) Poorboys polish with carnauba applied with microfibre pad/buffed off with cotton stockinette cloth. Einszett metallic polishwax applied with microfibre pad buffed off with microfibre cloth. Einszett waxpolish soft applied with terry cloth applicator/buffed off with microfibre cloth. Blackfire gloss enhancing polish applied with microfibre pad/buffed off with microfibre cloth. poorboys natty`s blue pastewax applied with meguiars sponge applicator/buffed off with microfibre cloth. All rubber/plastic had autoglym rubber cleaner then the plastic had bumper care over the top of it wheels got poorboys polish with carnauba then poorboys nattys blue pastewax. Tyres had Meguiars endurance high gloss tyre gel applied by tyre sponge. Finished off by doing the windows with autoglym fast glass.

Dont worry about the blackfire gloss enhancing stuff wayne i bought it as i thought i`d need it, same with the blackfire wax however both are redundant to me now-just thought i may aswell use it-its very simular to p21s cleanser to be fair if anyones used that.
The waxpolish soft werent really needed-just wanted to make sure it shone. If i`d have had t-cut and autoglym super resin could have probably got it much simular(even though ppl think its the devil as its too harsh-red`s easy to get a shine out of once its been cut bk) .

That sort of shine/look is possible on pretty much any car in my opinion-realisticly if it were my own would have skipped a few products and probably took me alone 6 or 7 hours to do-Once you get them like this its pretty much just washing regular and polish/sealant wax now and again doesnt have to be often, doesnt even have to be waxed to be fair.
When i first decided on trying poorboys stuff waay bk(still like it just a bit dusty) i just switched between polish and sealant every couple of wk-could do the whole car in an hour after a wash so werent bad at all. Used to use- poorboys polish with carnauba one wk poorboys EX in a fortnights time (just washed it alone the wk inbetween) I know the last few cars ive done ive thrown allsorts at but thats mainly because i wont be doing them again and know the owners wont bother too much after. Just dont want ppl to think you need loads of moneys worth of products to create that impact, you dont. Literally Poorboys polish with carnauba and poorboys EX got me to this shine at a cost of about £12 each bottle. ![]() ![]() Ive just tried loads of stuff(and will continue to) till i can narrow stuff down to the perfect car care kit ![]() Will always contain poorboys professional polish-always use it for getting marks off of mine or scratches that turn up now an again its like a mild t-cut if ya like. once the polish with carnaubas gone wont be buying anymore-prefer einszett metallic polishwax. Gave the last bottle of EX i had(what were left)to a mate,i just prefer the shine i get off of some products than i do to others. I,ll list on here soon anyway what im always gonna keep to help folks out -wont be daft money for the lot-like ive said before though remember my car aint perfect but if that kinda finish suits ya feel free to follow my advise. I`d be the first to admit it aint detailer quality but does your car need to be,youve seen recent ones ive done on here. Eventually i will buy a polisher myself no doubt an will work on swirl removal etc (in general theres hardly any on the scooby) For anyone buying a polisher recommend sonus sfx1/sfx2/sfx3 to use with it as theyre fairly mild, whereas the likes of menzerna etc you`d really need some practice first. Daz my mates got several menzerna products and some are really coarse, whilst we`ve managed swirl removal on other ppl`s cars with just sonus stuff in the past-definately safer if youre new to it.

So Dave, your rate the Super Resin over the Blackfire polish? Reason i ask is that my Super Resin polish and (? brand) shampoo have just run out so i bought the Blackfire stuff to make the postal costs from the states worthwhile. Though i only paid £45.00 for the polish, Shampoo, Wet diamond, a few applicator pads and expedited registered shipping.
![]() I'm not looking forward to paying British prices that's for sure. ![]() |

No i stopped using autoglym ages ago mate on bodywork, the blackfire gloss enhancing polish is basically a cleanser-theres basically 2 types of polish them that chemically clean the surface and contain oils that are supposed to nourish the paint before wax, or liquids that are abrasive to the surface itself to perfect it-i prefer the latter, having tried both types however can be used together if youre that keen.
Pretty sure it says clearcoat safe on the poorboys as it is very mildly abrasive especially if ya compare it to say t-cut but if ya rub the professional polish between ya fingers can tell its slightly abrasive, though you`d notice the difference on your car anyway-difference is with it it doesnt contain wax its more to flat the paint and clean it-definately needs a sealant over it after really to increase the shine/leave a smooth finish to your car-hence why generally i only use after claying-1 bottle probably lasts me a couple of yrs. Ive actually got some sonus gloss enhancer somewhere aswell but like i say i dont particularly notice much difference from them meself-certainly wouldnt tell anyone theyre a must have at all. From a polish point of view poorboys professional polish/sonus sfx1/2/3 take some beating but will be down to the individuals choice-still not found the "perfect"polish though if im honest. When i see mine looking a bit dull though now (one day you will get this bad )just go over it with sfx2 then sfx3 just to cut it bk slightly, then ideally use blackfire wet diamond all finish paint protection (sealant) to finish off unless you prefer to wax aswell, if this is the case 1 coat of collinite 915 wax.

Shampoo wise and i recommend this to everyone meguiars shampoo plus love the stuff works out about £20 inc postage for a us gallon usually but you really do only need a capfull each time, and contains a softener and is really foamy like ya wouldnt believe for the amount ya use-love it.
Sounds expensive but will last ages and ages. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washin.../prod_322.html
