Chemical guys petes 53 wax

Just ordered some of this, been round a few sites looking at reviews and its a bit of a mixed bag if im honest though its mainly aimed at darker coloured cars so we`ll see. Were recommended to me by a couple of detailers on astra owners network (detailing section) an its not a bad price for 53% white carnauba wax content by volume-think thats more than swissvax/zymol entry level waxes ie zymol japon/swissvax samurai at more than twice the price.

As always expect a few pics when ive tried it http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/ch.../prod_337.html

well done it today, were pretty good stuff to be fair for 20 quid however its no collinite shine wise,is quite a hard wax so i`d expect it to last fairly longish-definately worth 20quid its got that sorta swissol feel to it if im honest-
just when collinite 915`s only a fiver more i`d have a hard job recommending this to anyone over that.
Were probably a bit harsh on this wax to be fair-gave it another coat today an it looked wicked still not collinite good but very close.

Gone over it again today with petes 53 wax so thought id post pics again, did look well but think its more from the blackfire sealant underneath applied a while bk.

Do like it and gives a deeper finish than p21s though its not as easy to buff off and can be a bit dusty still worth £20 though.

Thats me for a while now i gotta use up what ive already got so aint trying anything else for a while.

Its a funny colour for that pete, you really have to catch it in the right light- sometimes it looks really good when its sorta overcast or at dusk if ya like but in bright sunlight sometimes dont look that great-were a bit of a pain to do today to be honest as the panels were red hot when i did it so had to buff off as soon as it were on(not ideal and dont recommend it-ya cant get away with it with all waxes on hot bodywork)If i were using say collinite i would have left it till the car were cool an the sun had gone-collinite`s very tempremental.

Just because i can be a bit negative about scooby reliability/resale values/performance(certain models only) and other ownership issues aswell as having the odd jibe at certain scooby models doesnt neccesarily mean i dont love their presence/appearance/appeal.

Sometimes think ppl on here think i randomly slate scooby`s when in actual fact i just try an tell it like it is-if i hated them i wouldnt spend as much time/effort keeping mine like i do.........................even if in a yr or two i`ll probably have more money`s worth of wax than car ...........if i havent sold it by then.(no intention of yet though)

Einszett waxpolish soft going on nxt wkend (but shhhh dont tell anyone)

Its sometimes about reading the finish and knowing what qualities the products you`ve bought have got-sometimes i`ll use a product that gives quite good depth but not necessarily a great top shine and follow the week after with say p21s to get the best of both worlds.Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt uve just gotta experiment-you can find 2 coats of the same wax works brilliant or you get better results sort of mix and matching.
I know the waxpolish soft gives a simular shine(possibly slightly better) to that of the petes though not the depth so "hopefully"shine should be improved next wk even though it leaves more of a sealant type finish than waxed protection wise.(dont worry me u know how often i do me car)

Blackfire sealants now gone as has all collinite 915wax/pinnacle xmt180 wax - im getting through it steadily though bear in mind i tend to use mine on some of my mates cars aswell before they buy any, aswell as occasionally on my dads vectra.Gave about 2/3 bottle of poorboys EX to adam with the 205mi16,ive still got quite a bit of other stuff left to get through though.

May post pics nxt wk.

tbh mate its always best to give someone the whole picture as opposed to just the best bits cos at the end of the day someone's gonna shell out hard earned cash for what could either be their pride and joy or bain of their life! when i worked for mercs i would always put the good points across then give them the other side of the coin with the drawbacks and pitfalls(when they released the facelift c-class in 99 then the new e-class in 01/02, build quality was crap at best!). at the end of the day, they'll thank you for being honest with em

Einszett stuffs very under rated in my opinion both the metallic polishwax and the waxpolish soft as used above.

There is no danger of it looking anything other than the shiniest example of a k plate micra in the country What you going to get to replace it then Dave.

A mini mpv,i run me mum about a bit sometimes as she dont drive an my dad works funny hours so generally aint around much to help her out,he`s either at work in bed or fishing,my mum does quite alot of babysitting for my sister so inevitably if im around i end up doin the takin/fetchin etc.

Initially were gonna get a 1.3 5door micra mines fine for what it is but useless on motorway just not powerful enough.
Still wanted something with cheap tax and relatively cheap to buy and preferably jap.
Before the micra were looking at megane scenics they were just alot more than i wanted to spend on a runabout and with the tax changing needed to be a sml engine still(dont think they did the 1400cc untill the later model)-its also renault which although i still wouldnt mind a clio 182 have big reservations about buying-place i worked at yrs ago bought a couple of renault vans an ive never known anything so unreliable.

Were a bit random really put just a price in on autotrader, keyword mpv an found these.

Mitsubishi space star come in 1300/1600/1800 although the 1300 aint rated that highly still does 40mpg and still cheap tax like the micra-dont want it for its speed just a bit more space an 5doors-will have to be the 1300 cant justify tax difference on something im only really gonna use for work/running family about (when im in)obviously has to be pre march 2001(tax still goes up more on the 1300 after then)

You`d be suprised what ya can get for just over a grand,so i`ll be teetering on the edge of the dark side-could sway the decision on my eventual next proper car having owned a ultra reliable nissan will this be the same-mind u took me ages to find a decent micra at the right price/mileage-probably be no different with the mitsi.
