).yours is looking rather nice too mate. looked at a couple of RA's just before i bought mine and because i didnt know the ins and outs of scoobs, i was sort of afraid of taking the plunge with one. starting to think i should have now lol |

It flatters to deceive Dave. To be fair though, it did look great in the dappled light through the trees.
I'll get some close ups of the paint next time i wash it so you can see the swirling in the paint work. Really gotta get on to it. Actually found the polish you recommended (G10 & G3) for sale here in Japan and its pretty reasonably priced too. Will order in a coupla weeks along with the blackfire (hopefully, that stuff looks great on yours) and then hassle you on the best way to polish out the swirls. ![]() |

Danny try some einszett metallic polishwax on it sometime its only £9.99 will need a couple of coats but is my fave on silver(though will need a half decent wax over it after at somestage to get the best out of it-you`ll be suprised with the results)
Looks great as is know you`d be pleased with that stuff though.3rd one down here http://www.einszett.co.uk/products_e..._paintwork.htm If ya do decide to get any dont bother with the glanz wax -its a bit like extra gloss protection were to autoglym super resin watery crap stuff ive got some but never use it. (Use metallic polishwax with a microfibre or terry cloth applicator if poss) Ive actually just done me dads vectra this wkend with the waxpolish soft, very underated stuff einszett(would have used the metallic polishwax first but really it aint needed its a 55plate so bodyworks pretty good.)

Thanks again every body your too kind. (Tom i've only had the car since feb so i must have got a good one that was well looked after before it was imported(jan '07) and not abused too much when it got here
) Dave, i will get some of the einszett polish when i get paid but as for the wax what do you recommend (collinite 915 I presume) and how do i do it? 2 coats of polish and then wax or wax after each coat? How long between coats. sorry to ask so many questions but i'm new to this detailing lark,(first car i've owned worth polishing ) And once more thanks again![]() |

Danny,
Dave wrote me a great tutorial a while back on polishing/waxing a motor and the steps that he suggests you take. Helped me out a ton and worked wonders on my cars bodywork. Followthe link and its a few posts down. Daves hot tip ......... |

Collinite 915 aint definately needed if you want to keep it cheap but is my favourite wax still. poorboys nattys/nattys blue is still quite good at half the price and protection wise great value-doesnt match collinites shine but is easy to use. Back to the metallic polishwax not critical on time with this between coats,if it were me would probably go straight bk over the car when i`d finished buffing off the first coat, would maybe wax it the following week after washing/drying-before anyone tells me ya should polish/sealant/glaze/wax im just after a shortcut to a quality shine for now on danny`s as i know this works/aint gonna cost a fortune/take all weekend/drop someone in at the deep end straight away. I tend to find if you give ppl a glimpse of what they can achieve fairly easily they`ll then decide if they want to take it further or not depending on time/expense/effort required to produce a good finish. proper route would be clay/various polishes from coarse to fine then sealant/glaze/wax but really aint a user friendly route to start with and could soon put someone off the idea totally ![]() ![]() By the way blackfire all finish paint protection is my firm favourite sealant for anyone reading this-dont think it can be beaten(not necessary yet danny-wait on the results of wayne using it on his )
