Recently my '93 Imprezza WRX has developed some issuses.


When downshifting from 3rd to 2nd and lifting the clutch out it will stall majority of the time BUT on the odd occasion I've been able to get into 2nd and quickly make it into 1st where the revs will flucuate and will sometimes stall or will simply idle like a normal tank.

I've taken the MAF off and it was pretty much spotless but I gave it a clean regardless but haven't fitted it back yet.

What I plan on doing is:

Taking off the IACV and giving that a onceover
Boost leak test

Second problem, it takes my car 4 tries to actually get it running and even on the fourth try I have to floor it to get the revs up.

By four tries I mean:
turn, stall
turn, stall
turn, stall
turn, WHOOSH

For every single attempt I am depressing the acclerator when it catches.

Anything else that could potentially cause these problems?
