Tbh mate, pople are just giving you the worst case scenarios. When it comes to buying anything (especially performance cars) it is best to go in with your eyes open. Sounds like you're clear on the risksand are willing to take the chance, in which case i absolutely say go for it. Chances are you'll have a great experience with the car and wonder what on earth we were all on about.

Regarding the Japanese engine thing; what a lot of people fail to remember when they say these engines aren't bullet proof is that you have basically taken a regular engine and given it a significant power increase and popped a turbo on it. This creates a lot of stresses that weren't there before so if you push the engine too much , too long things are going to go wrong quickly. Problem is of course guy before you might have thrashed the nuts off it and never had a problem, but they could all be there just waiting to go. Is it a risk worth taking? I think so and sounds like you think so too. My car bascially has 150 Bhp per litre; that is hell of a lot of power for such a small engine. But as stated before, i look after it and it's taken are of me in return.

Hope you enjoy the car thatyou finally end up with after a long, exhaustive and hopefully fruitful search.

Reards,

Wayne
